Spider Woman

Spider Woman the best of the universe. Spider Woman first was introduced in 1977 in a marvel comic book “Marvel Spotlight #32” After the conclusion of the comics, Spider Woman was depowered and unusable.

Spider Woman the girl version of the Ultimate Spider Man. Who was originally bit by a spider, so I’m guessing the same happened to her.

Spider Woman is in a few games. She is in an award winning game “Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2’’ but had different voice characters. Part 1 by Tasia Valenza and part 2 by Elizabeth Daily.

Bow-tie Spy-camera

Today in extension I was given an object, then had to turn it into a toy or game. I was given a bow-tie and I decided to turn it into a spy-camera.

My spy-camera is based for 8+ years of age, and would be powered by batteries. It also could be a good prank tool on your friends. The aim of the game is just really to be a spy and act like an agent.

Where Am I From

Where I am from I See birds soaring through the open sky

Bush Narrative

“Plot, plot” the sounds of spitting rain hitting against the pairs car. The two friends Josh and Kalim, decided to take a bushwalk, as Josh was leaving to another country. It wasn’t the best day to be going for a walk in the bush, but there was no other day since one of the pair were leaving. They both stepped out of the 4 wheel drive and threw on their raincoats and set off on their journey. Josh and Kalim were following the dirt track, which was getting a bit clunky and started to create mud. Both kept walking on, until Kalim slipped in a mud puddle. Kalim was covered in dirty, slimey, smelly mud. He thought it would be a good idea to head back to the car and drive back home. But Josh insisted to carry on their walk. Then the rain really started to pour down on these two, so the both had a little sit down at the park bench to see if it would calm down a little. While they were waiting, Josh and Kalim talked about all their great memories. Josh and Kalim totally forgot about the walk, which they were supposed to be doing. Both had a quick snack of fruit then set back off for their walk. Though the rain didn't settle down, they came across a lot more mud, and a few landslides leading down to the deep treacherous river below. A mist started to grow in the air, they were almost unable to see where they were going. Josh pulled out his torch to see if it would help. It did but not that much. Kalim yelled “HELLO” to see if anyone was around to help them out of the mist. The rain became harsher and harsher, until the rain was hurting their body’s. Kalim started to get worried and asked Josh if they could go back to the car. “Okay” josh said. But as they were walking both Josh and Kalim slipped down the landslide and hit the rocks below, fracturing Kalim’s ankle. Kalim moaned in agony “AAAAH MY FOOT, MY FOOT” “Your gonna be alright Kalim” Josh replied. Knowing they were going to need some help soon, the tide grew higher and the current went harsher and faster. Desperately Josh pulled his phone out of his bag, and rang the emergency services. But his phone only had one bar of signal, and was hard to communicate with the operator. Josh waved his phone around to get a better signal, Kalim moaned even more. “I’m trying to get help Kalim just hang in there” Josh said to him. As night fell, Josh ran out to get some supplies to camp out. He made a tent out of wood, and a tarpaulin he had in his backpack. The sun rised. Josh and Kalim’s family also got worried, and desperately rang emergency services. “Hello what is your emergency?” “Hello my husband and his friend went out on a bushwalk and haven't arrived home yet, please help” Kalim’s wife Debra and the officer kept talking. A helicopter was set out to look for the pair. Lucky Josh had the flairs in his backpack, for when they got lost. The chopper saw a glimpse of the flair, and flew down to a safe area. He called in cops, and an Ambulance to help. Both were helped up from the river, and rushed to hospital. Josh went back to his family, and Kalim set off to America. Josh said to his family “What a way to go bushwalking” Josh and Kalim still keep hold of each other and still share great memories together. One day Josh said he might fly over to America and hang with his best friend again to share some more memories.

Barn Narrative

Looking around, all we could see were swamp like puddles and a heavy mist lowering from the sky above. Mud trails with animal droppings all around surrounded the barn . Our teeth couldn't stop chattering as we couldn’t bear the freezing temperature. Thinking that it was summer we didn’t pack any jackets or jerseys.

Uncle Lucky, looked back at us two, smiling with his rotten teeth. “You two are going to have a horrible time” He knew that we had been playing up and that we were both naughty boys.I got a hiding from uncle Lucky for laughing when he smiled. But in the end we were still a close family.

We took our first steps into our new home for a week. Uncle Lucky slowly opened the door. The creak from the rusty hinges were as loud as a elephant going wild. Looking inside we were shocked to see how paru it was. Now we regret being naughty. The horrific smell, of the barn was dreadful, there were animal droppings everywhere, more than outside in fact. The moon arose and it was time to sleep.

Cosy in bed Matthew and I were ready to get as much sleep as we can before we get to work tomorrow. So was Uncle Lucky. We awoke to a strange noise. It sounded like a little boy screaming for help. Matthew was very scared. I was in control of myself.

“What the?” I yelled. Matthew and I looked out the window to see a cow with blood red eyes staring at us going crazy. Now I was scared. After seeing and hearing those strange things, we were very afraid to go back to sleep. But that was the best thing.

Sun arose, and beamed directly into our eyes as we were sleeping. Matthew and I awoke and to see Uncle lucky wasn't in his bed, he usually would be sleeping. But we heard him outside singing flat, and smoking. “You two boys better get working, there's a long day ahead for you two” Uncle Lucky said to us.

Forest Narrative

Wind buffeted the trees, a mist foged and drips of water plotted down from above. A group of  “red coats” patrolled the streets of a small village. Ezio Auditore quickly dived behind a tree and threw his hood over his head.

The darkness of his clothing hid him from the red coat soldiers. He quickly snuck off, making the least of noise. Tensing his muscles, he jumped onto the road and ran home, with his bird he hunted with his bow.

With fear of being shot in the back of his head, he sprinted home with hardly any food, for his family. He heard horses galloping, and was worried.

Pt. England Olympic Day!

As I walked into school, I realized that Pt. England’s Olympic day was today. I must have forgotten on the way to school. Spotting all the sports equipment laid out on the field, sent a rush of adrenaline throughout my body.

The whole school, gathered together on to the school hard courts. I stood up to witness a sea of multi-coloured clothes, flood the courts. We were to start of our Olympics, with a mini opening ceremony. We started our Olympics marching around the courts, with all the countries involved.

I was representing Brazil, so you know I was chanting “BRAZIL, BRAZIL, BRAZIL” It was a successful march. We have officially started out Olympic day. All teams set off to their destinations

Our first sport was Ultimate frisbee, with Mr harris. At first it was very tricky to make and complete an maneuver. But we all started to get the hang of playing. Our Brazil team lot, but we still kept our heads high.

Cross Country

Fighting the path as the peebles was bulging through the soles of my shoe`s. I keep fighting
against the path. Soon after my breath started to give in, my speed started to slow and my position in the race drooped.

the track was treacherous, the mud splattered up all the backs of the racers, making it harder to run. The racers keep their mind on the race, not being distracted by anything.

the muud squelched as I ran through mud puddles after puddles, the mud was squishy like a kiwi fruit being crushed in my hand.  My legs were fully covered in mud, YUCK! my mind didn't hesitate to get distracted by the mud or the` other racers.

Smoking - Matthew and Kaiden

Smoking is responsible for lots diseases like cancer, long-term (chronic) respiratory diseases, and heart disease and also premature death.  Over 4500 people in new zealand.  People die because of smoking each year and it is the leading cause of preventable deaths.  The World Health Organisation says that around 9% of deaths worldwide are caused by smoking. The chemicals in the tobacco can cause cancer like heart disease or lung cancer.

Tenages smoke because every one is doing it or just to be cool. This is a really bad thing to do when you're young because your body isn't fully developed. Once you start it’s really hard to. Smoking can really be affect your health or even your life when you get older.

The government only allows tobacco because he get % out of every packet of smokes thats purchased.  That's why cannabis is illegal because the government doesn't make any money from it.  He’s greedy for money.

Teenage smoking isn't wright. It can harm your health when you're older.  SO DON’T SMOKE!!!!

Animators Apprentice

Thursday last week, the extension group gathered together to meet with animators from Animators Apprentice. At first we didnt really know what was going to happen at this 3 hour session, but I knew that it was going to be really fun.

My favourite part of the day was when, we tested our new 12 part animation slips is the ZoeTrope. I really like how all the work and drawing came together an made a masterpiece.

I also like how the animators help and guided us through the process of creating these animations. It really would've been hard without Maka, Ali and Nils help.

Olympic- Valerie Adams.

Hanging her head with despair Valerie Adams showed her disappointment at her defeat. The realisation hit her that she could no longer defend her gold medal, she had won in Beijing. A mixture of feelings show on Valerie’s face she couldn’t help but hold her tears back. She was very disappointed, because of all the training and build up for the Olympics.

My favourite place

We were given a task, to find our special place in the school and to take a picture of it.My special place is the senior park, I chose it because, I used to play and hang out there a lot.

Vincent Van-Gogh was my artist model. I had to choose pen and ink due to the little amount of time left to finish this project.I am trying to reach the level of shading using ink, like Van Gogh. Also trying to draw short thin lines to define the shade, which is another technique he uses.

Pablo Picasso and Henry Mattise Comparison

Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, October 25 1881 and Henry Mattise was born in 31 December 1869, They were both very talented at art. Both artists had different types of paintings.Picasso was a Cubism and Mattises style of painting was Fauvism. In This story I will be comparing and contrasting these two painting’s.”The weeping women” by Picasso and “Women with a hat” by Mattise.

Two potray’s of women, one painting named Weeping women by Pablo Picasso and a women with a hat by Henry Mattise, though they are both about women, there moods and themes are very different from each other.Though there both women, Picasso’s women is weeping and Mattise’s women  is expressionless.Pablo’s women is weeping because of the Spanish war.Guernica, a painting by Picasso based on the War.Well Pablo’s painting was just an experiment.Testing some colour use and shading techniques.

In Picasso’s Weeping woman and Mattises Woman with a hat, there are various differences with the colours shared by each others. Through both paintings they’re colours are totally different for shading. To me Mattise has tottaly random colours, but to him thier most propberly not.And on the other side Picasso’s painting is around 75% shades of yellow.Though it does have a few shades of blue.Meaning Sadness.

The line and shape are also very different from each others paintings.First Picasso’s Weeping woman. The lines are dark black, and clearly delineated. The shape is mostly sharp jagged lines which is clearly defined by the use of different shadings..And there are distorted perspectives. And Mattise’s painting has rough textures, a few clear outlines.Lines are smudged and blurred.Though it does have a variety of different lines.

Daniella Hulme Info

Daniella Hulme is a New Zealand based full-time artist since 1998. In 1965 she was born in Elsloo, a province of Limburg, Holland. When she was a kid, she used to paint and use bright vibrant colours.Growing up though, Daniella’s parents were unsupportive of her wanting to be an artist, due to having traditional views on jobs.

In 1981 Daniella emigrated to New Zealand and started nursing in 1987.This is where she met her husband Jamie. It was through him that she started to realise her dream of becoming an artist. He bought her an easel, paints and a canvas and enrolled her into art classes.

Her tutor was a realistic artist, but she knew she had her own style of drawing. She did learn some techniques however, like brush strokes and how to use oil paint. She loved using oil paint better than acrylic because she liked the texture and the smell, and the depth of the colour difference she could create.

To be continued....

Starry Night-Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Van-Gogh the painter of the artwork Starry Night 1889 or its Original title La nuit étoilée.The post-impressionist used an oil-on-canvas medium.Below the rough textured, glowing stars and crescent moon is a quite, cold village.Connecting the earth and the sky is a flamelike cypress.A tree traditionally associated with graveyard and mourning.

Abundance Daniella Hulme

Danielle Hulmes is a New Zealand Painter, who painted the artwork ‘’abundance’’. In Daniella’s paintings includes Bright colours in the background to evoke happiness and strong dark vibrant colours in the convey she sends.

A lot of her paintings are based on the islands and the pacific. This is because she is inspired by her husbands culture, Samoan. Also her paintings have the same thing. For example, The Character that this artist would use someones face and copy it with a different body.

Her art is not really detailed but is bright and bald.

Writing reflection

I’m going to be getting heaps of home runs, in every single match. Were going to take it out, easy.Watch me! The opposition are going to have to forfeit when they see me hit. The year 8 softball team, set off to Tamaki Intermediate, to smash the opposition at softball.

Every year there is a softball tournament, around term 1.We always enter competitions like these so we can represent our school, and let kids have fun.I always brag about how I’m going to get home runs and every thing, because I’m like that.

Our line up was pretty normal. Our pitcher, we had quite a lot of pitchers, we would just swap around so we can have go’s.Our main pitcher was Joe, then Joeseph had a try.He was slightly better. But then another play joined the pitch crew and that was Lepa and then one of my very good friends Cruz became a pitcher, but not until around our last match.

Catcher was Havea, he could catch a ball going so fast into his face. And Tokorima was our other catcher, when Havea subbed.1st base was Lepa, Joeseph and Cruz.Lepa was our main pitcher, but then Joeseph and Cruz had really good catching skills. So they became 1st base.  Kayde was our second base, he also had really really good catching skills, he must get it from when he always plays cricket. 3rd base was Joeseph and Tokorima.I was the short stop, my names Matthew, and the other Mathew was the other 1. Kaiden was our left out field and Joe would sometimes sub on for him. They were also the center out field.Cruz, the right out fielder, he could catch and had quite a strong arm.Our main subs were Aidan, De’vyne and me since I let Matthew go first at short stop.Plus we all were good batsman.

Our first match vs Parnell District school. We all dominated at batting at fielding, we even gave them a turn at batting since we were winning and being really generous. They got a chance to catch up and they did.Joe SMASHED the ball. The ball went so far, it wen passed to other diamonds. The final scored ended up being 5-6 to Pt England(us)

The second to last match, I forgot who we played but it was a hell of a match. They kept getting home. The score was 11-0, but our coach Roz Takarei, told us it was 5-0 so we could make a comeback. It started wen Kayde hit the ball far in to the sky, and was safe on three.and the domination began.Hit after hit we came back strongly. We thought we won when we had way over 5 home. The final score.11-9.We had hit 9 home in 1 inning, wonderful job.

I think that I need to be writing more complex vocabulary.Work on my sentence beginnings.Use a variate of sentence lengths.Included complex hooks for better beginnings.

Show not Tell-Hydrolslide

Peeking out the window, I checked out how high I was from the ground. My turn was up. Sitting patiently, I was wondering when is it going to turn green. A flash of green and down I went. Pitch black, feeling bumps on my back, I tried to sit up and ignore the pain. That’s when I noticed I went faster.Sun light appeared as I was near the end.”SPLASH!” The water flew in the air as I hit the end.

Scruffy

Scruffy peeked over the fence, gaining Duffy’s attention.”Duffy, Are you gonna come play with me’’ Scruffy asked. Duffy replied “Well no Scruffy, I’m reading the best book in the world”
“Come play with me” Scruffy whined, shrugging his shoulders. “In 5 more minutes” Duffy said, while he continued with the book.

Running off moaning, scraping his feet on the ground, Scruffy returns to rugby. While Duffy reads the best book in the world.
